We Have a Momma!
With every child that my body grows, so do my hopes that the first word they utter will be momma. And every child that I give birth to has always puckered up and muttered dada first. I know, I know ... it's easier to say yadda yadda. But every day from the beginning of their lives, I whisper momma in their ear. Diaper changes, feedings, bath time ... momma? Not one has ever said momma as their first word. Quite honestly, I was starting to get a little worried about Tucker. He is almost 14 months old and has a pretty limited vocabulary. I know, I know ... don't compare children yadda yadda. But finally, at the beginning of the week; it happened. I was walking by him sitting in the floor and I heard, "momma!" What? What did he say? Must have been a fluke thing. But he continued to say it and has said it all week. Nothing squeezes your heart quite like hearing your baby utter your name. Ahhhh.
I also wanted to mention that he picked up his first shiner this past weekend. Right in time for Easter pictures.
