And in Conclusion

Some random pictures and an explanation about the ER and DR visits.

Amelia vs. Battery
So on Thursday night, I was finishing up some packing. Archie and Silas were gone on a Burger Run (they ride the motorcycle with a bunch of bikers *picture Wild Hogs, not Hell's Angels* to eat dinner). Amelia comes to me and says that she ate it and it made her tummy feel all better! After an investigation, it seems that she swallowed a small button battery; the before picture is here:

So, after a quick (4 hour) visit to the ER; it was deemed that she had in fact swallowed the battery and that it was in her stomach (good), rather than lodged in her esophagus (bad). Instead of starting our trip at 6am Friday morning, we had to wait for our Pediatrician's office to open at 8 for a repeat X-Ray to make sure that the battery was traveling in the right direction (it was!). The battery finally made it's grand exit in a IHOP bathroom in Madison, WI. I was really surprised at how quickly it had started to break down. The after picture: (no, it's not dark from poop) ...

Amelia vs. tooth
Since the battery incident was clearly not enough excitement, as we're on the freeway driving into Minneapolis-Saint Paul; I hear ... "NO Amelia, ahhhhhh ... MY TOOTH!" And look in the rear view mirror to see Gavin's mouth pouring blood. He had flopped his head over stretching and Amelia did not want him in her personal space so she decided to kick out with her foot; subsequently knocking out Gavin's top tooth (it was already loose from a run in with a skateboard). And thankfully, the tooth fairy knew where to find Gavin even in the twin cities! TKO for Millie!

  4. Wow that battery thing is pretty scary! I do hope the tooth fairy was extra good to Gavin, seeing as his teeth were kicked out instead of falling out on their own accord. :)
