Here's what you need:
1 cup of salt
1 1/2 cups of flour (I used more like 2 cups)
4 tablespoons of olive oil
4 teaspoons of cream of tartar
1 cup of water
food coloring
vanilla flavoring (if you want it to smell vanilla-e)
storage containers
Measure out the ingredients
Mix thoroughly; add more water if the dough seems too dry and more flour if it seems too wet
Pinch off small amounts and make a well in the middle of the dough ... add the food coloring and knead well until the color is consistent throughout the dough
Store in air-tight containers or ziploc bags (I keep mine in the refrigerator)
Have fun!

I love homemade play doh. I used to make it all of the time when I taught kindergarten. Did you know that you can add Kool-aid packets to color the dough and to add scents? My favorite 'doh' was made by adding pumpkin spice and orange food coloring. Smells so good! :)
What fun! I never thought to add vanilla to the dough...I hate the way regular play dough smells so we don't use it a whole lot! I will have to try it with the vanilla!
Fun! Love the pictures too.
They look fabulous. Hope the kids don't think they are that edible.
BTW I have tagged you on my blog, hope you can also answer some fun questions. :)
