We try to get outside every day that we can to play in the afternoon. After homework and naps have all been finished up. We have a big yard with a swing set, playhouse and sandbox. The babies always head for the swings first thing and after Gavin rides his bike for a while, he hits the sandbox. Here lately, it's been a mess. The kids almost always forget to close it up and it invariably gets soaked with rain. But back to Gavin. He's always loved the sand and will play for hours in it.
A few days ago, he called me over to show me his latest creation in the still wet sand.
"Try to guess what I made Mom."
Gee Gav, is it a mountain?"
"NO! Mooooooom! Guess again!"
A forest?
"NO!"
Buildings?
A bridge?
Lots of cars and trucks?
no, no, no, no, no
Well, I give up Gavie, what did you make.
"Gheesh mom, it's Mount Rushmore with no heads!"
Holy cow ... why didn't I think of that? I could have guessed for a hundred years and NEVER picked that one.
Funny! I love things like this! It's so funny how kids think you should have thought of that.
