More Talent In Her Big Toe

When you have a wee, little baby and you see how quickly they grow up; you do everything you can to cling to their babyness. Especially by your 3rd or 4th baby; you just know that when you blink, that baby is gonna be up walking and talking. With your 1st and maybe even 2nd babies, you spend your time waiting for them to meet the next milestone, fearful that your baby might be abnormal or below standard in some way (funny). By those last few babies, you know just how fast time really travels.

The second point I want to make with this entry is how incredibly sweet and endearing baby girl clothing is. We had 2 boys first and were then blessed with Daddy's Little Princess. The selection for girl clothes is 3 fold what baby boy clothing is. It's more expensive, but way more "pretty" and "sweet."

I wanted a way to preserve Amelia's babyness as long as I could and was very hasty in parting with her pretty and sweet baby clothes. I had read in a magazine one time about the idea of making baby clothes into a quilt. This was my answer. With only one small problem...I can't sew a lick. I might be able to sew on a fallen button and maybe even stitch up a small tear in something, but only after several tries, some foul language and a few holes in my fingers from the needle pricks. So, I relied on a very good friend of mine; CATEYB__L. She sews beautiful dresses for her daughters and makes her brood matching Christmas PJs! I knew that she would be the one. But here I fail to mention that she has 6 beautiful kiddos and is pregnant with her 7th. Needless to say, she stays mighty busy; but there is NO challenge that CATEYB__L won't rise too. She eagerly agreed and after several exchanges of ideas and such and a few months later...the quilt arrived in the mail yesterday.

Oh my gosh is it lovely!! She far outdid my expectations. I wept like a little baby. It is splendidly beautiful and CATEYB__L has more talent than I will ever possess.

So, here it is...TADA...Amelia Grace's Baby Quilt...

WOW!! Gorgeous. What a great idea. I wish I had thought of that before I sold all of jo's clothes in a garage sale.

And glad you posted pics-I forgot to take some before I sent it off so I may just steal one off here.... ;) And can I just tell you how extremely excited for a girl these little bits of clothes made me?! Especially since I have some of the ones that are in the quilt! What good taste you have!
