We just got back from our yearly beach trip...completely fun and completely exhausting. I think that we all would have stayed for another week if we could. Every year we travel to Myrtle Beach, SC right before school starts back. Kind of an end-of-summer blow-out. The past 2 years have been haunted by trips to either Urgent Care or both Urgent Care and the ER. (Need you even ask? -----> one word, Gavin!)
This year, we made it home with neither an ER trip or Urgent Care; although it wasn't from lack of trying. Gavin ran right smack dab, full force into a glass door and smashed both his fingers and foot in a heavy door. We also had to make a dash to the after-hours Dr the day that we left for an ever-lovely fever from Millie.
Just some high lights and pictures from our trip...
Sunday evening, Tucker and I are up for a midnight bottle. Out on the balcony staring out at the beautiful ocean; calm breeze blowing...smell that warm salty air. Who needs a calming nature CD when you have the real deal?
Monday we went to Ripley's Aquarium and saw a real dive show, sharks, touch tanks of horseshoe crab and stingrays and did I mention sharks??
Tuesday evening we went out to the ocean after the sun was behind the high rise hotels and played in the sand and the boys "tried" to skim board...FUNNY!
Wednesday we got showered on at a cool shopping area called Barefoot Landing. The kids picked up souvenirs and we got to see a tug boat in action.
All this intermixed with good food and trips to the on-site water park. We were in heaven!!
Glad to be back home. The babies have been asleep for nearly 2 hours, the car is unpacked and I have started on the laundry (my laundry room looks like a sandbox). Tonight is open house at both of the boys' school and back to football practice. I need to go get milk...
