Well, we're doing SOMETHING right!

Last night, Silas snuggled up to me on the couch with a worried look furrowing his brow. He was concerned about his good friend at school. If his buddy doesn't do well on the EOGs, then he will have to repeat 3rd grade. Silas wanted to know what he could do to help. I told him to just be his friend and to lend an ear. It warms my heart to know that all this talk about caring for others is sinking in.

And then today, Gavin was upset with a kid that sits at his table. The three times that Gavin has gotten in trouble this year have been because of provocations by this kid. Today, the kid "stole" the snacks that Gavin was trying to "send to Lilly." For once, Gavin did not retaliate (thankfully). I asked him why he was sending his snack to Lilly and he said because she didn't have a snack. Awww ...

Maybe we ARE doing something right.
