Operation: Fatten Up!

Tonsil Boy isn't doing too well in the eating category. He'll eat small bites here and there, but that's it. We battled over a small bowl of Cheerios for 30 minutes this morning. Thankfully my perseverance paid off and he finished them. Despite the ample amount of pain medication that he's consuming, it seems that his throat is just too tender. He's lost 4 pounds since the day of his surgery. Momma just isn't happy with that.

Thankfully my chubby babies have always slimmed down to regular sized toddlers and have never had to struggle with weight issues. I know that some moms have to "diet" their babies or try to stuff them full of calorie laden foods in an effort to fatten them up or slim them down. I guess that it's my turn now. Commence Operation Fatten Up! I hit the grocery store this afternoon buying all of Mr. Picky's favorite foods. It seems that man cannot live on ice cream alone. (Go figure!) Warm cupcakes just came out of the oven a bit ago and we're having a robust meal worthy of Thanksgiving overkill status.

Collin didn't eat much of anything substantial for a few days and that was okay. He lost some weight too but it came back once his throat healed up. He mostly drank his meals...broths, jello, ice cream that kind of stuff. I didn't want him to scratch off the scabbing with food and cause bleeding so I let him decide what to eat for the first week. *hugs*

may I come to your house to fatten up? Please?
Seriously, I hope he is doing better soon. That is a bummer.

Our munchkin is long and lean so fatten up is our program too. Although I would eat your cupcakes myself and give him maybe just one bite. LOL.

when I had my tonsil out I lost about 10 lbs (I had mine out when I was 18). I ate "real" food too quickly and broke the scabs in my throat (yuck)... so I had to go back to square one of just liquids.

Those cupcakes sound good!!!
