A Post in Which Gavin Wonders

I think that Gav is FINALLY on the up-swing. This was MUCH more harder and traumatizing than I realized. He sounds better and looks better and is somewhat eating better (though not at a capacity that makes his Daddy happy).

One thing that has happened through all this is that Silas is FINALLY acting like a good big brother. He's always been sweet and helpful to the babies, but his relationship with Gavin is rocky to say the least. Maybe it's because they share a room; maybe it's because they are closer in age; maybe it's because Silas just needs someone to be ugly to. This past week, he's taken care of Gavin; shared all of his previously off limit toys with Gavin and has even played nicely with him. This all leaves Gavin wondering what their relationship will be like once he's healed again.

My hope is that this is a turning point in their connection as brothers.

I hope he continues to get better! It would be neat if a byproduct of all the yucky surgery stuff was a stronger relationship between them!

I'm glad Gavin is starting to feel better! It's it so nice when your kids are friends! My boys are the best of friends...but they can torture each other too! I think it is just a brother thing!

I hope that the relationship does continue to be a good one, though if they backslide, now you can remind Silas that he *does* have the capacity to be kind to Gavin. hee hee

the picture of the swing is perfect...especially in describing the relationship, esp. if it is anything like my oldest 2. One day, H is the perfect big brother, the next? Oh my.......
