It's hard

learning to share.

The 2 year-old wanders into the living room where her older brothers are watching a movie. She has a small bowl of pretzels cradled lovingly in the crook of her arm. Her 1 year-old brother is in hot pursuit; he can smell those pretzels like they're one of those giant, warm deals from Auntie Anne's.

A scuffle of unimaginable proportions ensues. I hear "Pees! Pees!" NO TUCK! They're mine! "Hmmmmph!" High pitched scream ... "Noooooooooooooooo!"

The one year-old staggers into the kitchen; resembling the victor from a violent bar fight. He has 2 small stick pretzels clutched in his fist, stuffing his mouth with the other fist. A cursory glance at the Diva confirms that she survived the scuffle and still has 36 pretzels left to consume.

Then I see it, a twinkling in the baby's eye ... he's contemplating another foray back into battle ... I stop him and provide him with his own bowl of pretzels. The lesson on sharing can wait for another day.

I loved how you wrote this ... "resembling a victor from a violent bar fight." I would just wait on the sharing lesson too!
