the Entrepreneur

I think that I may have told you that Silas got into the AIG program (academically, intellectually gifted) at school last year. This year, they are participating in the local Junior Achievement activity called BizTown. The class members all serve in different roles assigned by the teacher in an attempt to understand life in a community/ business. Silas was unwillingly cast as the owner of the Soda Shop. I'm sure you can see why this is so detrimental to a boy who fancies himself the next Donald Trump. He has slowly acclimated to his role as the town soda entrepreneur and of course has taken his place there to an all new level; expanding his product line to include coffees and milkshakes and creating a slogan and advertisement. From day one, he has not been complacent with the venue for his business venture. His shop is located in the food court of a local mall, run by two of the other students. I'm sure you can imagine his disgust at having to be housed in a place called "The Cool Good." I get comments like:

The cool good what? Don't these people know anything about marketing?

They better be glad there aren't any other food courts in town!

Cool Good ... so easy a caveman can do it!

Right now, he's plotting to purchase a controlling amount of stock in the food court and overthrow the current CEO and CFO; changing the name of the food court and adding a slogan.

Oh, what's his soda shop's brilliant name you ask?

WELCOME to ...

If you want the fizzy ... come to the frenzy!

Silas sounds like he's going to do so well in his new program. And Donald Trump better get ready for his new competition!

And I obviously have been a bad blog reader and have not commented enough. Your new layout is awesome! Nice and clean! When did you change it?

Thanks! I think that I changed it up quite some time ago!

What a smart kid! And doesn't he know that to be Donald Trump, he probably won't start out right at the top...he has to get there through hard work and making those little starter things great!! Sounds like he's well on his way!

I like that Silas! He sounds like Micah when he was a kid. Micah read Donald Trump's autobiography as a kid and managed to get a boatload of the books donated from Trump to the school after writing a letter to him. Your Silas will go places :)

Oh I loved this field trip when I was in school. (I think 5th grade?!?) Exchange City is what we called it. I was a DJ for the radio station. It was so fun. Silas sounds so smart! You must be so proud! ikeandella.blogspot.com
