The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword

Every week, Silas is required to write a story using all 21 of his weekly spelling words. Most of them are really pretty good, but this week's story takes the cake.

The weather was cooler so the ants knew it was time for the Pinewood Derby Race. The kindest ant, Ralph let the other ants pick their cars first. The bigger ant, Big Tim had to get the biggest car. The slimmer ant tried to get the slimmest car. There were big cars, small cars, cool cars and nerdy cars but there was only one car and one ant that were different. It was the hottest, wildest, slowest, strangest car of them all. The green lambo-dodge 5,000! In other words, the L-D-5. And the ant's name was Stan the Hot Dog Man. He was born with a hot dog hat on and no stinger. None of the other ants liked him just because he didn't have a stinger. Oh, I forgot to tell you that he was an orphan too. But he proved himself today. Well, let me just tell you the story. Wailing his way out of his orphan home, he was delighted to say farewell to his home forever. He was going to the race! He was the wisest, fastest, shortest kid in school. He was very successful, in A.I.G. and he had tamed his own dog! Stan gave good advice. The ant wasn't dreadful about money and also healthy and cunning. Not at all worried about grades and very well behaved. But yet, nobody liked him. Oh and of course he wasn't wild! He thought that all of the other ants were strange. Some of them pantomimed his look. Now he was finally old enough for the race! So he picked out the L-D-5. As soon as the light turned green, he was off and before he knew it he was at the finish line. YAY! He won! He knew he would win. When he got back to his home, everyone wanted to adopt him. They were cheering louder and louder as his car rolled away!
