That's What Little Girls are Made of ...

After having back to back boys and knowing our family wasn't complete; I dreamed of a little girl who would join us. She would be all sugar and sweetness, have the best manners and the sunniest disposition. She would never get dirty or play in the mud. She would only play with dolls and have tea parties. She'd wear frilly dresses and bows in her hair. And she would love having her hair braided.

Well, sometimes reality isn't quite what you think. Our little girl burps and passes gas louder and more often than all of her brothers. She gets dirty at every opportunity, grimy face and sweaty hands. Hates having her hair touched, much less braided. She tolerates dresses, but only on occasion. She plays the hardest, runs the fastest, but has the sweetest sunny side too. She's wild and she's wonderful and we wouldn't trade her for anything! It's nice to finally have a girl, but sometimes just not quite what I expected.

Too sweet! I figure if I ever have a girl she will be rough and tumble too...especially with three older brothers:)

And see, I always dreamed of having a tomboy ... so I probably would have ended up with a girly girl! But we learn to love our kids no matter how they change up our first expectations!

I had 3 boys and finally had the girl that we all prayed for. She loves dresses, having her hair fixed, dancing in her tutu...all while getting dirty, burping, passing gas (and of course laughing about it), then politely says, "excuse me" with a cute sheepish grin!

We are all enjoying having a little girl in the house!
